Meals for seniors, delivered or together

If you or a parent is 60 or older, the county has two ways to make sure there's a good meal every day: hot food delivered to the door if you can't get out, or a weekday lunch with company if you can. Here's how both work and who to call.

Meals on Wheels: home delivery

Who it's for: Homebound residents 60 and older.

What you get: A hot midday meal delivered to your door on weekdays. For the weekend, they deliver two cold meals on Friday so you're covered.

Cost: Suggested donation $5.50 a meal. It's a suggested donation, not a bill.

Meals on Wheels: eat together (congregate dining)

Who it's for: Independent residents 60 and older who can get to a dining site.

What you get: A hot lunch and company, Monday through Friday, 11:45am to 1pm. Dining-site addresses: call to confirm at the number below.

Cost: Suggested donation $5.50 a meal.

How to start: Call (908) 284-0735 or email office@mowih.org to find the nearest site and reserve a seat.

County Division of Senior, Disabilities & Veterans' Services

The county's front door for senior services. They help you find your way to programs, but they don't book the meals themselves — for meals, call Meals on Wheels above.
