Privacy
We collect almost nothing.
No accounts, no data sales
You can't create an account anywhere on hunterdonscoop.com — not for the newsletter, the business directory, the tools, the jobs board, or the Who to hire concierge. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful — page counts, not personal profiles — and our pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a standard request to Google's servers when a page loads. We don't run advertising trackers and we don't sell data to anyone.
The newsletter signup
The Thursday newsletter signup hands your address straight to our newsletter platform, which stores it so it can send you the edition you asked for — this site itself keeps no subscriber list of its own.
The Who to hire concierge (and the cost-check forms)
If you ask for a name — through Who to hire or the "get my match" form on any of the cost-check pages — here is exactly what happens to what you type. Your request — the job, your town, how to reach you, and anything you write in the description — is stored in our lead system (Cloudflare's infrastructure), along with your browser's technical signature, and a copy is sent to our private Slack so a human sees it fast. The spam check on the form (Cloudflare Turnstile) processes your IP address to tell people from bots. Requests are stored whether or not a match is made, until we clear them. When we do match you, we forward what you told us to that one provider so they can follow up. We don't sell any of it, and we don't use it for anything beyond answering your request.
The tools run in your browser, or don't keep what you type
Most tools under Tools run entirely in your browser — what you type never leaves your device. A few, like the license checker, send the number you enter to the state registry to get an answer, and we don't log or store what you search.
If you email [email protected], we keep the email so we can answer it and document corrections. That's it.
